2022 RAM 1500 TRX Ceramic Coating

Before we touched the ceramic coating, we started with a thorough paint correction. The TRX's factory finish had minor swirl marks and dust nibs from transport and dealer prep, so we performed a multi-step polish to bring out the true depth of the paint. New England winter means road salt residue builds up fast, and we needed a completely clean canvas.

Once the paint was corrected and stripped of contaminants, we applied an industrial-strength ceramic coating in controlled conditions. The TRX's large surface area and body lines required careful technique to ensure even coverage without streaking. We paid special attention to the hood, roof, and horizontal surfaces where UV exposure is most intense.

Curing time in our climate-controlled space allowed the coating to bond properly before we cleared it for use. We explained the curing schedule to the owner - these coatings need 48-72 hours before water contact and about two weeks before full strength. That's critical information for anyone living through New England winters.

The transformation was immediate. The paint now has a deep, reflective gloss that accentuates the TRX's muscular design. More importantly, the hydrophobic properties are working exactly as intended - water beads up and rolls right off, taking road grime with it. This means less frequent washing and easier maintenance throughout the year.

For long-term value, this truck is now protected against the elements that typically degrade paint in our region. Salt won't bond as easily to the surface, UV rays won't dull the finish as quickly, and acid rain has less chance of etching the clear coat. The owner will see this reflected in resale value, paint longevity, and reduced detailing frequency over the coming years.
